Jamie Saint Merat is an Auckland, New Zealand-based drummer and co-founder of death metal act Ulcerate. Throughout the band’s 20 year career, Saint Merat’s name has become synonymous with versatility, creativity and genre-bending expression, both in the studio and live arena.

His exploration of feel, dynamics and improvisation in the context of extreme metal has been crucial in the development of the rhythmic identity for the band. Jamie plays Pearl drums, Meinl cymbals and Axis pedals exclusively.
