REMOVAL Step 1 - Using a 1/8” Hex Key, loosen the set screw located on the back side of the upper rocker (#2 location) - opposite the Drum Key Screw. There is no need to remove the set screw entirely. Step 2 - Using your drum key, loosen the Drum Key (#1 location). Step 3 - Slide the upper rocker off of the axle shaft. If the rocker does not slide off easily, try moving the beater back and forth while sliding off the upper rocker. Once the upper rocker is removed, the spring should detach from the lower spring mount screw. Step 4 - Using a 7/64” Hex Key, Remove the two (2) lower bracket screws (#3 location). At this point, your Standard Spring Assembly is fully removed. INSTALLATION Step 1 - Fit the two long screws through the holes in the lower bracket (#3 location). Ensure the screw tops are properly seated inside the counter-sunk portion of the lower bracket. Using gentle pressure (to ensure you don’t strip the screw holes) begin tightening the bracket screws. Using a 7/64” Hex Key, tighten both screws. Step 2 - Loosen the lower thumb nut (#4 location) to its lowest position. Step 3 - With the upper portion of the spring assembly in your hand, loop the lower portion of the spring over the lower spring mount screw (#5 location). Step 4 - Ensure that both the drum key screw (#1 location) and the upper rocker set screw (#2 location) are adequately loose. You will need to pull up on the upper rocker (stretching out the spring) while sliding the upper rocker onto the axle shaft. Step 5 - Set the beater in its desired position and tighten the drum key screw (#1 location) using your drum key. Once you are satisfied with your final beater position, use a 1/8" hex key to tighten the set screw located on the back side of the upper rocker (#2 position) - tightening this set screw helps ensure the beater position will not move during drum play.
