Simon "Bloodhammer" Schilling started playing drums at the age of 10 and joining the school band playing Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Metallica covers. He discovered extreme metal and started to practice blast beats and extreme drumming. Later on Simon joined bands like Fleshcrawl, Nervecell, Belphegor and in 2019, he joined Marduk.

I remember seeing all those sick drummers like George Kollias and Derek Roddy using Axis, so I also wanted to play Axis. I've been endorsed by Axis since 2015 and playing since 2006. [I like] the feel and the aesthetics of the pedal. Also the support and the history behind the brand.
